Gun mounts at the Salisbury Beach Military Reservation, in Massachusetts, were uncovered by a recent storm. The mounts have been hidden for years, showing up every few years when a big enough storm pulls enough sand from the beach. The mounts are already being reburied by the surf.

That's neat. Sort of reminds me of Battery Bluff at Fort Funston (HDSF) except those panama mounts where at the top of a 100' bluff, but slid into the ocean due to erosion. They are half buried like these, and get uncovered once in a while after storms, etc.

I like how this one apparently was called "Polish Hammer"...

Hey Z-man! It's okay, no snow but humid as anything in the summer. Hoping to drag the wife and kids to some southern forts this summer on vaca, TN is just far from the coast! I have managed to hit up a few civil war forts in the area Smile Nothing like being back in New England though Sad
