did any other countries use either the base end stations or the depression range finder? from my research [ limited i admit] i cannot find any. germany seemed to use just ship style optical ones and seemed to share the readings with several guns often of different types. they seemed to often have only one or two controlling all weapons in range. it seems to me that the us practice of having many rangefinders and linking with only one type of weapon was far better. plus the vastly longer base distance with the plot being fed two kinds of data has to be a huge improvement.
