Anyone have an idea of where this was taken? Aberdeen and Ft Eustis both say that the picture was not taken there.

It has a German 210mm Model 1913 railroad gun in front of the building.

Yeah, it is Fort Monroe, Bldg 165, Class "F" Liberty Theater. Built 1920, sold 1938. A new theater was built in 1938, presumably on the same site.

It had 22,024 sq ft above the basement, with a capacity of 1638 men, at a cost of $105,461.05.

Is this gun still there? If not, where is it now?
With the closing of the Fort under the 2005 BRAC, if it is still there will it remain there?

According to the book "Images of America, Fort Monroe" by Paul S. Morando and David J. Johnson, on page 64, the "German railway gun was captured during World War I and was shipped to Ft. Monroe as a trophy. It was placed in front of the Liberty Theater in 1920 and stood there until 1942, when it was cut up for wartime metal. Another German gun was displaced near the hospital and met the same fate."
