Hey Guys, Just found this cool site, very nice. Thought you all might enjoy a grouping that i picked up a couple weeks ago. Also thought you might be able to help with some info.

They were based (at some point) out of El Paso Tx. my father was in the unit. They were disbanded after WWII. I believe there is a museum at Ft. Bliss where there may be more inf.

202nd Coast Artillery Regiment, IL National Guard
Constituted 10-1-20 as the 6th Inf. Regt and allotted to IL NG. Redesignated 1st Artillery (AA), CAC, IL NG on 3-19-21. Redesignated 2-7-23 as 202nd Artillery (AA), CAC, IL NG. Regiment organized at Chicago 8-26-24 and redesignated 202nd CA (AA) Regt, IL NG CAC.

On 9-16-40 202nd CA (AA) Regt inducted into federal service at Chicago and moved to Ft Bliss, TX, 9-27-40. On 12-16-41, 202nd CA (AA) Regt moved to Bremerton, WA, where it provided AA defenses for Bremerton Naval Shipyard. 3rd Bn constituted 5-27-42 and organized at Bremerton 6-15-42.

On 9-10-43 regiment inactivated and elements redesignated: HHB redesignated 202nd AAA Group; 1st Bn redesignated 768th AAA (Gun) Bn; 2nd Bn redesignated 396th AAA (AW) Bn; and 3rd Bn redesignated 242nd AAA (SL) Bn.
