10-inch experimental battery at Fort Morgan, Alabama. Gun removed in 1918, Carriage removed 1922. This is the way it looks today....Here is a PDF copy of the Report of Experimental Firing at Type Seacoast Emplacement - Fort Morgan ALA. March 13 and 14, 1916 file: FtMorganTest001.pdf

Matt these photos were taken in the last year, Ike and Katrina have recovered whatever was uncovered.

I was there earlier this summer and shot some video. didn't get to shot any photos as I was asked to leave the area, seems it is felt that you can damage the dunes. The guy was very nice about it however, so if you want to visit this site be aware you need to stay as much out of sight as possible. I think if you stay off the top of the mount you won't be noticed

The report references several photographs, but they seem to be missing from the CDSG copy of the report. Does anyone know whether they were overlooked by the person who was thoughtful enough to scan the original for our benefit?
