I am looking for information on the 8" guns at Ft. Abercrombie, Kodiak Military History Museum had the 8"/45 MK6 3A2.
Max elevation, according to the Army FM, was 45.

http://www.kadiak.org/artillery/8in.html

The magazine allowance tables for Fort Abercrombie show the Navy 260# AP MK XX Mod 1 (600 rnds), and the Army 240# HE M103 (300 rnds). The base charge for the MK XX was 74.251 lbs. of "NH", and the increment bag for a supercharge weighed 33.749 lbs., for a total charge weight of 108 lbs. Supercharge muzzle velocity was 2750 fps.

The AP shell bursting charge is 3.4 lbs. of Explosive "D".

Do you have or know where I can obtain range table for these projectiles?

Do you have or know where I can obtain manuals for this gun and the M1 mount?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Gene Slover

Gene, If you do not have the info on the manual, it is War Department Technical Manual (TM 9-42) "8-inch Seacoast Material Gun Mk. VI Mod. 3A2; Barbette Carriage M1," April 19, 1943.

You might try www.abebooks.com or other booksellers of used books.
I have nothing with regards to the range tables.

Kaneoheboy

Thanks I'll try that.

OP 127 USN rifles from about 1890 to 1956 does not list the gun but I assume that its a USN gun modified by the army to fit M1 mount.

I also have nothing on the projectiles that it says they used in the gun shown here?
