OUTER DITCH:
A ramp extending from the outer ditch to the top of the outer wall was cleared by our site manager (Jack), our

local chainsaw wizard (George), and several other volunteers. At one time, the Salient Place d'Arms was located

at the top of the ramp. Unfortunately, the works have been truncated at the top of the wall by the construction

of Navy housing.

CROWNWORKS:
A local boy scout troop recently cleared some of the gun platforms on the central bastion of the crownwork.

These positions have not been cleared in a great while. The scouts brought their own chipper and did some

outstanding work!

A number of minor projects have also been completed at the crownwork. A number of arch-ways have been repaired

on the exterior of the work.

Here - workers are resetting the large blocks along a portion of the cordon of the crownworks. As you can see

from the photos the blocks were "dangling" over the edge!

Evidence of the hard work performed here!

Team lift on this one guys!

Finally entrance to the Civil War magazine on top of the Southwest demi-bastion has been rebuilt. Here are some

pictures of the magazine "before" the work was done. The pictures were taken early 2011 after our volunteers

cleared the brush in anticipation of the project. The blocks forming the entrance had shifed and fallen out of

place.

Work in Progress...

The finished product...
