11/15/11: The November 2011 publications were sent to the printer on November 15th, so expect delivery by mid to late December. The table of contents for the November 2011 (Vol 25, Issue 4) Coast Defense Journal have been posted on the Journal Contents page and a downloadable version of the November 2011 newsletter is on the newsletter page.
10/31/11: The CDSG ePress is now offering the complete harbor defense electronic document collection on 10 DVDs for a discount price of $250, and the electronic PDF version of American Seacoast Defenses, a Reference Guide, Third Edition for $40. See the details at the CDSG ePress page.
10/6/11: Made some minor changes to the Modern Seacoast Defenses List of Military Reservations and Batteries regarding the WWI batteries at Fort Saulsbury and the WWII batteries at San Francisco Bay and Narragansett Bay. The revised list is posted the new list on the CDSG website. It can be downloaded from the Download page or the Forts, Reservations and Batteries page.

1/31/11: Our latest CDSG Press offering and the first "print on demand" book through lulu.com is Artillerists and Engineers: The Beginnings of American Seacoast Fortifications, 1794-1815, by Colonel Arthur P. 1/30/11: New update on the restoration of Battery Pratt at Fort Stevens State Park, Oregon.
12/6/10: revamped the CDSG ePress document DVD offering. Now for $50 you can get a DVD with all various reports, manuals, regulations, books, etc. The newest offerings are PDF copies of the Histories of the Eastern Defense Command and the Southern Defense Command to go with the History of the Western Defense Command. 8/21/2010: Update information on special publications available from Terry McGovern and Redoubt Press, including a new book on the Harbor Defenses of Chesapeake Bay. See the Special Offers page.
5/14/10: Added a link to the Most Endangered Sites List Most Endangered Sites List. to the home page.
3/9/10: Uploaded a new section on the virtual harbor defense pages for the Harbor Defenses of Puget Sound. This along with the pages for the Harbor Defenses of the Columbia River provide info on what was at a harbor defense. The pages are generally by location/fort and has pages for each gun battery. Check it out at Coast Artillery and Harbor Defenses. Expansion will include more specific info from the RCWs/QM records on the fire control, searchlight, radar, communications, buildings, etc. Check out the Fort Ward page to see a more complete example.
